OPPONBA China 3 on 3 Tournament
OppoNBA Basketball Tournament

After announcing a reality TV show and a cheerleading competition earlier this month, the NBA and electronics manufacturer OPPO have revealed a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for Universities in China. The competition will run from April 25th until July 19th, and 10 cities (15 universities) will be on hand to participate. The three finalist teams will win the opportunity to go to the U.S to experience NBA style training and visiting the L.A. Lakers Staples Center. The final is scheduled to be on the 19th of July in Shanghai, and will be attended by Philadelphia 76ers star Andre Iguodala. Besides the basketball action there will be dance/music performances on show, OPPO’s own mobile phone expo booth, as well as NBA branded entertainment including mascots and more.

Oppo and the NBA had originally formed a partnership back in December of 2008. The NBA continues its strategy to expand its influence among the Chinese youth, with events that cover street basketball players, cheerleaders, and now university basketball players. A total of 32 teams will be able to participate in the OPPONBA tournament which should hopefully give a slight NCAA March Madness feel and experience to Chinese basketball fans.
