The Chinese National Basketball Team continue their preparations for the 2009 Asia Basketball Championship, and have defeated Australia 84:78 in their first friendly match in Beilun, China.

The Chinese Basketball team was without their two star players Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian, but National team veteran and former NBA player Wang Zhizhi led all scorers with 20 points. Sun Yue came off the bench and also contributed with 4 points and 3 rebounds.

This was Guo Shiqiang’s  first match in charge of the China basketball squad. He will have a chance to collect his second victory with another friendly scheduled for Wednesday.
